Our Story

Created by Educators, for Educators

Teacher Genie was founded by educators Jenniffer Jones and Kelly Mason, who understand both the joy of teaching and the many demands educators carry each day.

We know teachers are asked to meet academic goals while also supporting students' emotions, behavior, relationships, confidence, and individual needs. Finding high-quality resources—or creating them from scratch—can take hours that teachers simply do not have.

Teacher Genie was created to make that work easier.

Our resources are developed with the realities of busy classrooms in mind. We focus on practical tools, simple implementation, clear organization, and meaningful support for both students and educators.

Meet the Founders

Meet Jenniffer Jones

Jenniffer Jones is an experienced elementary educator who believes that meaningful learning begins when students feel supported, included, and inspired. With more than 19 years in education, she brings a unique combination of expertise in art education, special education, early childhood education, social-emotional learning, and student wellness to Teacher Genie.

Jenniffer began her career as a special education teacher, serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade in both direct and collaborative classroom settings. Her experience developing individualized supports, adapting instruction, partnering with families, and helping students navigate academic and behavioral challenges shaped her commitment to creating resources that meet the needs of the whole child.

Since 2014, Jenniffer has served as an elementary art teacher, using creativity to strengthen academic learning, confidence, self-expression, and community connection. She integrates cross-curricular instruction, social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and service learning into her teaching while ensuring that students with a wide range of strengths and needs can participate successfully.

Jenniffer’s commitment to leadership and service extends far beyond the classroom. Fourteen years ago, she created a schoolwide Day of Service that gives students meaningful opportunities to make a difference in their communities. The initiative has since expanded and is now held at three schools across the county.

Together with Kelly Mason, Jenniffer co-founded Koala C.L.A.W.S., a student service and leadership club that empowers children to serve their school and community. Jenniffer and Kelly also co-founded Mural Masters, an after-school art club through which students work together to create murals that enhance their school environment. In addition, they co-lead the School Beautification Student Action Team, where students collaborate on murals, signs, seasonal displays, and other school-beautification projects. Through these programs, Jenniffer helps students recognize that their creativity, leadership, and service can make a meaningful and lasting difference.

Jenniffer’s dedication to students, leadership, and innovative teaching has earned recognition throughout her career. She has been named Teacher of the Year and received the Foundation of Excellence Seasoned Teacher Award. She has also been nominated for the Teaching Tolerance Excellence in Teaching Award and the Walter Allen Sr. Inspiring Teacher Award.

Jenniffer holds a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education from Piedmont University and a Bachelor of Health Administration from Florida Atlantic University. She is certified in Art, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education and is also Breathe for Change Yoga and Social-Emotional Learning Certified.

Through Teacher Genie, Jenniffer combines her classroom experience, creativity, and passion for student and teacher well-being to develop practical, inclusive resources educators can use with confidence. Her goal is to help teachers create calmer classrooms, support diverse learners, protect their own wellness, and bring a little more ease and magic to every school day.

Meet Kelly Mason

Kelly Mason is a dedicated science and STEM educator who believes students learn best when they are actively involved, encouraged to ask questions, and given opportunities to explore. With nearly two decades in education, including 18 years with the Clarke County School District, Kelly brings extensive experience in science enrichment, early childhood education, hands-on learning, student leadership, and social-emotional wellness to Teacher Genie.

For 18 years, Kelly has served as an elementary Science Enrichment Teacher. She teaches every grade level from prekindergarten through fifth grade—approximately 42 classes each year. This unique role allows her to build upon students’ scientific knowledge while watching them learn and grow over seven years. It has also given her the opportunity to build lasting relationships with thousands of students and their families.

Kelly makes science memorable through hands-on experiments, project-based learning, coding, robotics, makerspace activities, interactive technology, and real-world problem-solving. She has organized science fairs and STEM nights and has introduced students across multiple grade levels to astronomy as a StarLab traveling planetarium presenter. Before becoming an elementary school teacher Kelly taught adult literacy, helping learners strengthen their reading, writing, digital literacy, and GED-readiness skills through patient, personalized instruction.

Kelly also co-leads the school’s fifth-grade Safety Patrol, helping students develop responsibility and leadership as they assist with arrival, dismissal, assemblies, hallway monitoring, and service activities. Her other leadership roles have included Specials Team Leader, mentor teacher, PBIS representative, Lead Wellness Champion, and co-leader of the Safety Patrols.

Kelly’s dedication to science education and student success has earned recognition throughout her career. She was named 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year and has twice been nominated for the Foundation for Excellence in Public Education’s Thomas H. Whitehead Chair for Teachers of Science Award.

Kelly holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Biblical Studies from Atlanta Christian College. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, ESOL, and Science for kindergarten through twelfth grade. She is also Breathe for Change Yoga and Social-Emotional Learning Certified.

Through Teacher Genie, Kelly combines her love of science, creativity, service, and student wellness to develop engaging, practical resources that help teachers bring learning to life. She is guided by a favorite quote: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
